Woodturning: Turning the Peppermill with Carl Durance | March 22, 2025 - March 23, 2025

Through this comprehensive hands‐on workshop, learn to make wood turned peppermills, or salt, spice, or coffee mills. Topics will include safety considerations, wood selection, design considerations, mill mechanisms, some simple math, drilling mill blank, tool selection, sharpening, mounting options, turning techniques, and finishing. Each participant will have the opportunity to turn a peppermill during the workshop. As time permits, various alternative designs, from functional to decorative, may be demonstrated and/or discussed in addition to the hands‐on class projects.

This is a two day workshop. Each day will begin at 9:00 am and end at around 4:00 pm. The workshop will be held at Intersections Wood Collaborative at 299 10th Street E., Owen Sound.

Materials fee: $40.00, includes mill kits and mill blanks, payable to instructor
